Cornhole, also known as bean bag toss, is a popular American lawn game that involves each player or team throwing 4 bean bags at a sloping board with a hole in it. The aim is to get your bags in the hole for 3 points or landing them on the board surface for 1 point. The first team to reach 21 points win the game.
The origins of cornhole are unclear but is believed to have started in the Midwest of the USA in the 1800s by farmers using corn-filled bags. It is a popular game at football games, tailgate parties, backyard barbecues, and other outdoor gatherings. Cornhole is now an official sport with the American Cornhole League featured on ESPN. Professional cornhole players compete in tournaments for cash prizes. The rules can be varied depending on the age and physical ability of the players.
Guinness World Records recognises the longest recorded cornhole game was in the USA in 2014 and lasted 26 hours and 12 minutes. Cornhole is a fun and entertaining game that brings people of all ages and skill levels together and is a great way to spend time outdoors.
